Firstbase advertises formation for $99, and plenty of international owners start there. Two details matter if you want New Mexico: Firstbase Start forms only in Delaware or Wyoming, and its registered agent, which every LLC needs, is a separate $299 a year. Below is the comparison with our New Mexico package. We're the company selling that package, so allow for that.
Does Firstbase form New Mexico LLCs?
Not through Start, its formation product, which covers Delaware or Wyoming only. Firstbase sells agent service in every state, but formation in New Mexico isn't on offer. If you need New Mexico specifically, you'll have to use another provider.
Firstbase's strengths
Firstbase stands out for putting a price on the annual federal filing many international owners need: $899 a year for a non-US single-member LLC, which takes in the 1099s, an extension, and Form 5472 alongside its pro forma 1120. Firstbase's Start page names Mercury, and Firstbase says the EIN can be obtained with no SSN or ITIN. It forms C-corps as well as LLCs, and offers mailroom plans from $35 a month and an accounting product.

Three-year cost in New Mexico
Since Firstbase can't file in New Mexico, the table uses its lower-cost state, Wyoming.
| Firstbase Start + Agent (Wyoming) | Our package (New Mexico) | |
|---|---|---|
| Year one | $498 | $449 |
| Year two | $299 | $99 |
| Year three | $299 | $99 |
| Total | $1,096 | $647 |
We're $49 lower in year one and $449 lower across three years. Wyoming's annual report and license tax would add to the Firstbase column; New Mexico has no annual report to add to ours.
Where our package differs
The agent is in the price
Year one of registered agent service is part of the $399, and renewing costs $99 a year. Cancel from your dashboard whenever you want.
An application prepared, not just access
Firstbase offers its customers access to a Mercury application. With us, the work of setting up your bank account with our partners is ours: we complete the application from your order, attach your New Mexico certificate, and have it finished by the time your SS-4 is signed. You check it and approve it, it's submitted, and the EIN turns up afterward. Our partners decide; approval can't be guaranteed.
SS-4 handled end to end
We fill in the form for a responsible party with no SSN, collect your e-signature, and fax it to the IRS. EINs by this route usually take two to eight weeks.
Who should go with Firstbase
- Owners who want an annual 5472 filing sold at a fixed, published price.
- Founders happy with Delaware or Wyoming, or forming a C-corp.
- Businesses that would use a mailroom or accounting from the same company.
New Mexico upkeep after formation
New Mexico LLCs don't file annual or biennial reports. Keep an agent and registered office on record, and the state is satisfied. Federal filings such as Form 5472, and gross receipts tax registration if your business needs it, fall outside our package; a tax professional who serves international owners can help.

FAQ
Does Firstbase offer New Mexico formation?
No. Firstbase Start is available in Delaware or Wyoming. Its registered agent product reaches all 50 states, but it won't form your New Mexico LLC.
What does Firstbase really cost in year one?
Start is $99, and Firstbase says a registered agent is required but excluded, at $299 a year. In Wyoming, with the $100 state fee, that's $498. Our New Mexico package is $449.
How far apart are the renewals?
$200 a year. Firstbase's agent renews at $299 and ours at $99.
Can Firstbase do my Form 5472?
Yes, for $899 a year as a standalone service for non-US single-member LLCs, bundling the pro forma 1120, 1099s, and an extension with the 5472. We don't do tax filings.
Do I need an SSN or ITIN with either?
No. Firstbase says neither is required. We use the IRS fax procedure for applicants without an SSN, preparing the SS-4 for your e-signature.
